Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Project -
Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Project -Phase 2 (“RFBP-2”) is a JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency) assisted project. Project is covering 15 districts of Rajasthan State out of which 10 are desert districts. In addition the project also covers 7 Wild Life sanctuaries. The project period is 8 years (2011-12 to 2018-19) and Project outlay is Rs. 1152.53 crore. During the Project activities like, Afforestation, Soil and Water Conservation, Biodiversity Conservation, Poverty Alleviation and Livelihood Improvement will be undertaken in selected 650 villages of the project area through active peoples’ participation. The project also envisages active involvement of NGOs/VOs in the field of community mobilization and micro planning. International Project Management Consultants, Resource Organisations and National/International institutions are also associated with the Project to support it in technical and other specialized fields.
Lok Sahbhagi Sansthan has been undertaking this project from July 2016 scheduled to end in March 2019.
The following activities are being conducted under this project:
1.Training and mobilization of SHGs (self help groups).
2.Support for marketing and value addition.
3.Training of VFPMC members.
4.Extension camp and field visits.
5.VFPMC formation and strengthening.
6.Micro planning including PRA exercise and preparation of Final micro plan report.
8.Workshops and seminars at DMU level.
